Vermicompost and Vermicompost Leachate Application in Strawberry Production: Impact on Yield and Fruit Quality

Recycling organic waste is most important for preserving natural resources. The research objective was to quantify the effect of application vermicompost and leachate on yield quality strawberries compare it with a standard fertilization program mineral fertilizers during 3-year production cycle. Five treatments were studied: control—without fertilizer (Ø); (V); + foliar (VL); through fertigation (L); NPK (NPK). V positively affected strawberry only in first year. In all three years fruiting, highest measured treatment. year, had no fruit quality, while second third years, led significantly higher concentration total soluble solids, anthocyanins, antioxidant activity fruit, lower acid. Strawberries are grown two- or three-year cycle, so VL cannot maintain level as fertilizers. however, can be improved significantly.
